Lyn wins our Easter 2019 Super Draw

Lyn Furr won the top prize of £1,000 each month for an entire year in our Easter Superdraw, after buying a ticket from a friend.

Lyn says, “I was at work when I received the call telling me that I had won. At first I thought it was a joke. I didn’t think it was real. Things like this happen to other people. Not to me. I was so convinced that it was a wind up, hospice staff had to ring me back to reassure me that I had really won.”

“I went home later that day and looked at the ticket which I had stuck on my fridge. I asked my house mate to double check the ticket number for me and when I realised it really was true - I had won - I burst into tears and we had a cuddle. Then we had something fizzy to celebrate!”

The win couldn’t have come at a better time for Lyn. She added, “I was having a really bad day when I received the phone call telling me I’d won the Sue Ryder Lottery Super Draw. But didn’t that change! The win will help me pay my mortgage off earlier and it will allow me to follow my lifelong dream of working with animals too. I can change my career now and do something I have always wanted to do.”

Lyn shares, “The reason I entered the Sue Ryder Lottery was because I wanted to give a donation to help fund the amazing care given at my local Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice. I never in a million years thought I would actually win!”

Couple win and donate back!

Sophie and John, from Bishops Cleeve, were delighted to win the £1,000 first prize in our new lottery. It will help them to install a new bath in their shower room to help John following complications after a recent hip operation.

Sophie said, “This unexpected win has cheered us all up and made us smile.

Despite needing the money to improve their living arrangements, the big hearted couple have kindly decided to donate £100 back to Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice. Thank you to Sophie and John!
